After years of outsourcing their tissue-culture-propagated rootstock, Sierra Gold Nurseries of Yuba City CA made the decision to bring this facet in-house. SGN worked with Hilbers Inc. to construct in essence, a building within a building resulting in a one of a kind tissue culture lab. Unique circumstances are common and handled daily by Hilbers Inc. Hilbers, Inc took this unique circumstance and turned it into an energy efficient, state of the art Lab that will help Sierra Gold keep up with the increased demand in the marketplace.
The main feature of the lab include:
Specialty HVAC design and HEPA filtration to eliminate any possible contamination of the lab space.
Insulated paneling was used to deliver a durable wall system that will stand the test of time while providing the clean/washable surface needed for the Lab setting.
Within the “grow spaces” of the lab, Phillips GreenPower LED Production Modules utilized for maximizing plant growth while minimizing energy waste. This also results in substantial longterm cost savings (over traditional fluorescent grow lamps ) for Sierra Gold.
