Hilbers Winners of the 2020 AIA San Mateo County Design Award

Since Hilbers Construction was founded in 1962 by Leroy Hilbers, it has been our mission to provide quality construction that allows our communities to grow and last through the generations. In 1983, Leroy’s oldest son, Kurt, partnered with his father to build the already successful company up to commercial contracting to fulfill a higher need in their community. This was the start of L&K Construction. When Leroy’s remaining sons, Glenn and Larry, joined the L&K team as superintendent and licensed civil engineer, they became partners in 1988, and the company incorporated, forming Hilbers, Inc. In the 30+ years since then, Hilbers has grown to include Tom Jones as the 5th partner and a successful niche in the commercial construction industry.

60 Years In The Making

It’s with all these years of experience and knowledge that we are proud to have a part in building the winning design by architecture company Group 4. Group 4’s design won the Citation Award in the Interior Architecture Category and the People’s Choice Award for Interior Architecture in the 2020 AIA San Mateo County Design Awards for the Dublin Rec Center project. We are both humbled and proud to have worked on a project held of such merit by an organization dedicated to uplifting their community through architecture scholarship and programs.
