Airport construction presents unique challenges, and Hilbers Inc proudly rose to the occasion with the Aeroterm E project at Sacramento International Airport. This 40,500 SF design-build air cargo and office facility, developed for Amazon, is directly connected to the active runway, demanding rigorous coordination with Federal, State, County, and City agencies. In partnership with Comstock Johnson Architects, the facility blends the functionality of a state-of-the-art cargo warehouse with refined office and meeting spaces, creating a high-performance environment with clean, modern design. Extensive site work was required to support access and parking, which was completed despite the heavy rains of November 2019. Hilbers Inc collaborated closely with the State Water Boards to implement innovative water mitigation solutions, ensuring the project remained on schedule. This project stands as a testament to Hilbers Inc’s ability to deliver complex, high-security infrastructure under demanding conditions.
